i thought it was out of 5 stars!
ReplyDeletethat was a typo.
ReplyDeletethat was a lot of fun to watch! thank you, you five bookish spinster types.
ReplyDeletelistening to your conversation helped me see that I got a bit caught up in the criticism I expressed in my comment on an earlier post, and while I think at some level I had appreciated a lot of the strengths in the book, my focus on the criticism came at the expense of focusing on the book's strengths. It was very well written and both the plot and the characters were really compelling. In fact, the criticism I made -- that the negative consequences of Sam's actions on Juliet's life did not seem to be considered and acknowledged adequately by the author -- really was able to get a grip on me precisely because I was so caught up and interested in the lives of the characters. The narrator's voice was authentic and sympathetic. And as I said before, this book was so much better than Impossible (in my own opinion).
spinsters?! but we went dancing...
ReplyDeleteglad you watched and enjoyed our discussion. wish you could have heard the stuff not on video... well not all of it, but the stuff about juliet, etc.
